SCC Construction, was founded on the belief that a beautifully designed space can also be cost effective.

Sun Capital Corp began redeveloping properties in Vancouver, BC in 2003, focusing on the restoration of heritage buildings, merging modern design with classic architectural features. While searching for construction companies to work with on our projects we found it difficult to find anyone who was both design-focused and still reasonably priced. Sun Capital Corp recognizing such a need in the Vancouver marketplace formed its own construction management services, bringing together quality design and build services at a reasonable cost.

President
Phil graduated from UBC, with a major in Philosophy. He is a visionary entrepreneur, a successful developer, a film production company owner and a charity supporter.
 
At the beginning of his development career, he purchased and restored a heritage building sparking his interest in the construction industry. Then is when he found himself dealing with construction companies that over promised and under delivered. He realized that the model of the traditional Construction Company needed to change. That’s how he started SCC Construction in 2008, with the goal of providing customers with more than the industry standard, focusing on them, understanding their needs during the design/construction process, and always going the extra mile. 
 
When Phil isn’t at the office, he’s usually exploring new business ventures.

Josh Bligh

Business Development Consultant

Josh has been with us for over 10 years and has become the MVP of SCC. His experience in Tenant Improvements, Residential Renovations, and Sales provides him with the ability to build positive and long-term relationships with customers, sub-trades, and suppliers. When Josh isn’t in the office, he can be found on the local golf course, on the 19th hole.

Charissa Principe

Office Manager

Charissa Principe is a seasoned professional with over 15+ years of administrative experience in the commercial real estate and multi-family condo development industry in Western Canada. Throughout her career, she has successfully implemented numerous innovative and efficient systems to improve office productivity and streamline operations. Her expertise and dedication to her craft have earned her a reputation for delivering exceptional results and creating a collaborative corporate culture that empower her team to achieve their goals.

When not working, Charissa is an avid traveler and food enthusiast, always seeking out new flavors, cuisines, and cultural adventures.

Brett Waterman

Construction Manager

Brett is a graduate of the BCIT Building Technology program with 35 years of construction experience in both general contracting and as a client representative. He has successfully executed multiple Turnkey projects across Canada, from site selection through to construction completion. Brett is skilled in tenant improvements and ground up construction of commercial facilities and restaurants, has a proven track record of building and leading successful, high performing teams.

When he is not at work, Brett is transporting his twins to multiple activities, cycling, or practicing his Taekwondo poomsaes.

Kate Donnelly

Designer & Project Manager

Kate is our in-house designer. Originally from Ireland, Kate earned her degree in Architecture before embarking on a successful career in the field. With her talent and expertise, she was recruited as a Global Store Designer for a leading eyewear company. In this role, she designed 40+ stores across Canada, Australia, and New Zealand bringing her signature style and attention to detail to each project.
Today, she works as a Project Manager with a passion for interior design, bringing her expertise to a variety of projects in the commercial sector. Kate applies bold and elegant design sensibilities, which she applies to every project she takes on. She is also known for her friendly approach to work and relationships, and enjoys collaborating closely with clients to ensure that their vision is fully realized in each project.

When Kate isn’t in the office, she is off exploring BC or out socializing at local bars with a G&T in her hand.

Brian Donnery

Site Superintendent

Brian has an extensive background in construction and over 20 years’ experience in the industry. He offers a diverse set of skills and has done everything from commercial tenant improvements to structural concrete buildings.  

With ambition for project excellence, Brian has a passion for ensuring a job is on time, on budget, and on scope. One of his biggest assets however is his ability to create lasting relationships through culture building, mentorship, honesty and communication. He has a calm but decisive demeanour making him not only approachable but allowing for a seamless process from start to finish. 

When Brian isn’t at work, he enjoys spending time and building memories with his wife and two children.

His extensive experience brings a wealth of knowledge to his role, making him a trusted expert in the field. With a proven track record of success, Anthony is a driving force in the construction industry, consistently delivering exceptional results.

When not at work, Anthony is a dedicated family man with a loving wife and a precious newborn son, finding joy in mountain adventures and summer lakeside retreats. When not immersed in family bliss, you’ll likely find me chasing the perfect golf swing or exploring the serenity of the mountains.

Senior Project Manager

David, a proud East Coast native turned Vancouverite for the past 31 years, boasts a rich career spanning construction and construction management. He has continually embraced advancements in construction methods and management systems, utilizing new technology to elevate project delivery and enhance the customer experience. With a collaborative approach to team building and mentoring, David thrives on fostering enduring relationships with clients and stakeholders at every stage of the design and construction process.

When he is not at the office, David enjoys cooking, art, music, and creative writing. He also enjoys a good book about the subtle and complex facets of people places and things.
